Path 2 reading and discussion groups will deliver material concerning their assigned author to the class in a 15-20 minute presentation, to be completed at the beginning of class on the day for which they are scheduled (see the path 1 calendar for assigned dates). Responsibilities should be equally apportioned among group members, and presentations should include:

• selective, salient biographical details
  • privilege information that relates to the author's literary production
  • briefly consider both contemporary and recent critical responses to the author's work
• noteworthy themes and/or stylistic innovations in the novel
  • perhaps include a couple very pertinent, but brief, passages (on a handout or slide?)
  • do not summarize the plot or betray the endin
• some form of connection with the Path 1 text(s) assigned to the class for that day (by the same author)

Students may deliver the required information in whatever manner they wish, as long as they cover the prescribed areas: creativity is encouraged. I will rely on the following rubric when assigning a score for this 10-point assignment.

No materials, written or otherwise, need be turned in.
